Media & Public Engagement
I am passionate about ensuring that knowledge is not just produced and circulated within the academy, but shared with the wider community, the public, and non-academic audiences. With the high visibility and politicization on questions around who "counts" as a woman in sports, and the growing interest in women's sports broadly, I have had the opportunity to participate in several public discussions and debates about topics of transgender athlete inclusion, policy development, the politicization of the women's category, and fairness/protection in women's sports. I have also consulted on educational materials for coaches and athletic directors, sports organizations, and other media topics surrounding my research. I am available for interviews and events in the U.S. and internationally.

End of Sport Podcast

In January 2026, I was invited to join the End of Sport podcast as a co-host. Along with Nathan Kalman-Lamb, Johanna Mellis, Priyansh, and Derek Silva, each week, we critically analyze current events and topics in and across the world of sports. To do so, we interview and speak with sporting authorities, such as athletes, researchers, lawyers, activists, policymakers, athletic directors, and coaches. In 2026, we also launched a new series, "Out of Left Field," where all the cohosts meet every other week to discuss current "hot topic" issues in the sporting world. Recent topics have included the upcoming 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup, tensions between athlete activism and sports organizations' interests, the malleability of "fairness" in sports competition, the politics of exclusion, and conflicts of interest in funding and financing mega events.
